Learn to conjugate verbs in the past tense of the imperative

When to use
The imperative past tense in French is used to express something that must be done before a certain time. Its English equivalent is as follows:
  1. Imperative past tense
    The tenses that are composed with the '-ed' ending or with the have construction, but as a command.
    Eg. Please, have your homework finished before I get back!

Examples of use
Eg. 1)
avant 23 h 00.
before 11 PM.
Eg. 2)
beaucoup pour l'examen cette fois-ci.
a lot for the test this time around.
Eg. 3)
dans le temps pour le dernier train.
in time for the last train.

How to conjugate
Conjugate the verb avoir (to have) in the imperative present tense and use the past participle.
Tu ait + PP you (s.)
Nous ayons + PP we
Vous ayez + PP you (p., pol.)

With some verbs you will need to conjugate the verb être (to be), instead of avoir (to have), in the imperative present tense and use the past participle. There are only a small handfull of these verbs, find all être verbs and more information here.
Tu soit + PP you (s.)
Nous soyons + PP we
Vous soyez + PP you (p., pol.)
